Oceanside Softball is please to announce that Jenn McKellar Head Coach of the Douglas College Royals Softball program will be joining us, Wednesday March 20th of the BC Performance ID Camp. Jenn will be in attendance watching athletes for the day and doing a presentation at 12:00 highlighting the Douglas College Softball Program followed by a Q&A. Jenn a former Royals student-athlete has been an assistant coach with the program for the past four years under tutelage and mentorship of Michelle Peters. Jenn will bring a wealth experience and knowledge of Douglas College, Athletics, NWAC and the Softball program. A resident of Port Coquitlam, she has been actively involved and coaching at the grassroots level with the Coquitlam Minor Softball Association, and at the provincial level with Softball BC’s Summer Games teams. As part of Jenn’s vision for the Softball program, she believes connection to community is important in developing existing and prospective student-athletes who can achieve both academic and athletic excellence.
“Our primary goal is to win an NWAC Softball Championship. However, I believe there is value in having our softball team playing a couple of games in our local community ballparks. This will inspire the next generation of Royals Softball student-athletes” said Mckellar.
Jenn is a Douglas College Sport Science Alumni, and holds a degree in Bachelor of Physical Education and Coach (Kinesiology) as well as a Sport Science Diploma.
